At Funerals, I get lost in my own thoughts. Going to a funeral is something I reverse only to my loved ones, honorable friends, and fallen warriors. It is during these events I get lost in thoughts of life.
Today, was one of those events, laying to rest the body of an old war buddy. We saw many difficult times together, often laughing after an encounter with death. We shared our fears and problems after the war. We were very close. Now, he will no longer be haunted by smells, sounds, and pain of the war that never left our minds.  Semper fi, my Friend.
