Partly Dead With A Chance Of Bleeding

there was a storm

a day not norm

so young and frail

your spirit set sail

you never left dock

loved ones in shock

you; who we adore

body hit the floor

the rope quit swinging

no one is singing

souls do not depart

what remains; our heart

I'm not sure what this is about, but I can feel the pain and sadness. A simple poem that holds so much emotion....thank you!

Thank you for reading. This is complicated. But, just days before a young friend of my sons was suicidal, and our community was hit with 3 young suicides inside of a month, which is unusual for our neck of the woods. It was very difficult.

The one you wrote about in "To help this Young Man"?. A few years back...it could even be 10 years, there were spates of teen suicides happening in various areas....I forget where...very sad. is spate the right word? Is spate a word?

lol I do not know if spate is a word. I will see. do you mean spree?
But no, it was not that young man, it was a different one. Sad, huh?

yes, very sad... Ever read the poem, ' No man is an Island" by John Donne?
No man is an island,
Entire of itself,
Every man is a piece of the continent,
A part of the main.
If a clod be washed away by the sea,
Europe is the less.
As well as if a promontory were.
As well as if a manor of thy friend's
Or of thine own were:
Any man's death diminishes me,
Because I am involved in mankind,
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls;
It tolls for thee.
I read it and memorized it immediately when I was in college...over 40, I mean 20 years ago (well, it was over 20 years ago!)

BTW...
Spate: A large number of similar things or events appearing or occurring in quick succession: "a spate of attacks on travelers".
