Alone But Not Lonely

I spend as much time by myself as I can, I actually enjoy my own company and can entertain myself.  I'm not a depressed person, I just actually enjoy being alone with my own thoughts.  I've always been like this and when I was younger I pushed myself to join other friends and groups for fun, however, there came a time when I just got sick of all the "drama" in this world, and everyones "negative attitudes".  Yes, I now spend all the time I can alone, but I am by no means "LONELY".  I'm very happy!

I was an only child and learned how to enjoy my own company. Many friends didn't understand that, and parted company, but I still remain happy to be solitary too...

Well said! I don't think there's anything wrong with us wanting to be alone....someone I know wanted to 'get me out of the house' and be more social, and after I tired of the endless small talk (which took about 4 weeks) I stopped our outings. I know she meant well, though.<br />
I feel the ultimate comfort when I'm by myself.
