...I think being realistic is very common these days. But to actually Not being real is a task of inner strength. There is a saying "The fish who swim against the current is the live ones". I used that often. I dare not being real. I dare not to be like every body else. Because I can achieve more of being not real than being real. It's the "current" that makes you strong, that you dare to swim against it that makes you so much stronger. Although it is quite fascinating if you share these thoughts with a mind that is like your own but "tuned" differently, I have a friend like that, my closest friend actually. Because, as we say, "you can share the thoughts you once was so alone with", I've gain a great deal of knowledge listening to him.

I started alone, hermit warning like alone, but when I stepped out of my hole an met my future wife and decided being social can be quite educational. Although I am very careful of whom I share my thought with because "realistic" people have trouble coping my sense of mind.

I also learned a lot of "carpe diem" in my thoughts, my goal each day is to do something that I won't regret when I'm suddenly laying there dieing. The regrets that are so often common like "Why didn't I kiss my wife good bye" "Have I told my son I loved him" "Have I treasured my friends, do they know how much they mean to me" and so on and so forth. Life is always hanging from a thin thread. Love those words Mehameha

When you are as foolish as I am and wind up at the bottom of a deep well, you have to be able to get out somehow or drown with the next rain. I wasn't ready to drown yet. Thanks for reading.

I am a big believer in hope.

I have also always thought the phrase "get real!" was nasty. It is.

I don't necessarily believe that there are stages that you have to follow in order to get what you want out of life though. In fact I believe that if you are really living in the now that now is all that matters and that dreaming of something that might or might not happen in the future is where a lot of people go wrong--worrying about that --or not being able to see a way out of their present circumstance is what depression is all about.

So I agree with what you said--quit it, and do something now, today, to change the thing that you feel is holding you back. I think you talked about making others aware of what you are attemtpting to do; I guess by this you mean that if you talk about positive things that they become more real because you are giving voice to your plans and they seem more real when you can actually articulate what you want, but I think the actual doing is more important, regardless.

I am a doer, I do plan, but I do not wait for things to take shape--getting up, getting out, and actually doing what you say you are going to do is the key--like you said, successes do not just happen--you make them happen. It is not always easy and everyone has their own set of challenges to contend with, to overcome, but if you can try to not let the past or the future intimidate you then you are well on your way to improving and building on a positive NOW.

I love reading about people making positive changes with positive attitudes. It is at once humbling often, and inspirational.

Did I mention, I love inspiration almost as much as I love hope?

    Bravo!

Exactly, my friend. You understand. You were a big part of my support system. You are right. Now is reality. Disbelievers (negatives that also can include yourself) will try to keep you from your "Now" (your reality) Very valid points. You and I support eachother so we never retreat beyond our passion to succeed. This was a very general guideline. Each individual of course must tailor it to their individual circumstances. It was how I got there and it worked for me. Everyone has their own approach and wording. It was important for me to write this and validate the steps so I would never forget how to do this. When my internal demons cause me to doubt I will read it again so I remember I did this before, I can do this again. Thank you for your very valid comments. And your support.

These are just my words. Dare to make your own. Whatever way you need to understand it. You validate it and write your own steps then refer back to your own journey. I wrote this to be my own personal guide. You will create your own. As you succed once you may fail later and it is good to remember that you did this before. You can do it again.

Thank you. In a way it kinda sucks that I had to learn how to get there. If everything went well in my life, I would never even need to know this stuff. Ironic, Huh?
