Starting Over After 50Having my own mortgage business for years I thought I was set until my retirement, then the current recession hit. Needless to say my business went down the tubes. As you can imagine I was devastated. Here I was 56 years old and totally broke after sinking everything trying to keep my business afloat. After beating myself up for a while I said to myself "stop crying and get off your *** and do something about it" so I had to reinvent myself. Being broke my options were limited. So I turned to the only thing at my disposal, my computer. Not being very computer literate it took me a while to get things going. But persistence always pays off. Now here I am 58 years old and back on my feet. I have 5 web sites I receive income from, plus I setup motivational videos on YouTube called Over 50 And Broke and Over 50 And Having A Ball where I try to show people how to it what I call the TriFeca of life which is a healthy mind, body and pocket. Also a web site called Over 50 And Broke where I give advice to people in similar situations and help them find a way back.
The moral of this story is no matter your age or situation in life there is a way back. You just have to make up your mind to do it. I'd love to hear back from others who have a comeback story of their own.
