Oohh yes I certainly agree. I didn't know about C.S Lewis or his Chronicles of Narnia until the first movie came out. Then I bought the first book and it just gripped me. The part of the book that brought the most vivid images to me is the one in which he described the old dying world of Jadis (can't remember the names of the places and characters very well).

So far I have only read the first book and the Silver Chair. Books are quite expensive here, and these two books that I have were bought at a very discounted price.

By the way, I also agree on how comforting children's books are :)

Let out the child within. We all have a child trapped within this adult exterior. Well done for connecting with yours and feeling that joy. Mines a naughty child with a healthy dose of naivety thrown in. It manifests itself at some most inopportune moments.

My favourite Narnia book is A Horse and his Boy,but they are all great. If you like adventure, along the lines of Enid Blyton's Famous Five, try Malcolm Salville's Lone Pine stories. The first is Mystery at Witchend. If you like naughty little boys, Richmal Crompton's William books are hilarious.
