I Still Remember September 11

Too Young.

I was about 5 when that happened. I saw the scenes on tv and watched the horror on my parent's face. I remember my mom calling my dad from work and telling him about it and him arriving early. My sister was elsewhere, I forgot where, but I was right there next to my mom wondering why there was so much smoke, so much people running. I couldn't understand. I was too young.

    I would have been 9. Even at that age one doesn't realize the impact of it all. I certainly remember the expressions of shock and the serious looks on the faces of the adults.

    Neither did I. I was in the second grade at the time and all the teachers were running around freaking out, turning on TVs and radios and crying. Neither my classmates nor I really understood what was happening. When they told us what happened we really didn't get why it was such a big deal.
