I Still Remember September 11
When the two Towers went down, I cried, got angry, in Shock, and couldn't believe what is happening here ... I will save my thoughts for another story later on this week!
I was at work when this happen and i promised my dear friend that I will pick him up at the Airport and I went through so many Security Checkpoints that I literally walked all over the airport in socks trying to reach my friend so that I can take him home. Normally, this would take me no more than 30 minutes to do all this; but its turn out into a 2 hours adventure because the Airport Security and Police were being extra careful about all this. And, I even told a Police Officer that my car will be towed away because I put in enough change for a hour parking and he asked me where you park your car?
I gave him my ticket stub and I always write down the floor that my car is on and slot number. He looked at me ... this is great!
So, he told me that (15 minutes later) that my car is okay and flagged do not impound or hand out a ticket! I was relieved of that ...
So, the Airport looks like a half GHOST TOWN ... no one departing and a half TOWN of PEOPLE all wanting to go HOME!
Me and my friend connected together and he got all his suitcases and packages to take back home (he is an international businessman) and he needed my help to take these back to his home because he had a lot of stuff to fiddle with.
So, shortly after 7pm we were allowed to go home and by time we got back to his place ... his wife fed us both dinner and I stayed watched the Television with them all night long until 2am in the morning and trying to make sense of all of this.
I will never, ever forget this as long as I live ...
