Return To Innocence

I'll admit that much of the time I'm stuck in the mud of adulthood.  But then there comes that moment of wonder, a moment that freezes me in my tracks and leaves me with an astonished smile on my face.

I saw a blue heron today.  Seeing it, and identifying it as it flew over me was one of those moments of wonder.  Finding that my favorite doughnut had not sold out this morning filled me with childlike glee.

Yesterday I watched in wonder as a butterfly sailed in my open door, looked around the room, and sailed out.

And I'm always transfixed by sunsets.
