Shouldn't We All?

I have a friend who is always happy, never upset or stressed over anything.  When I asked her a while back what her secret was, I didn't realize at the time that she was right.  She told me to blow bubbles and watch butterflies.  Now granted, I love animals and anything to do with nature, but I had never actually stopped to watch closely.  These past few years, I have done more of that.  I watch the birds, notice the leaves growing on the trees, feel the wind blowing through my hair, listen to the sounds of the waves on the beach, I enjoy every sunrise and sunset that I can.  I have made snow angels with my children.  I have made mud pies in the yard.  I have counted rings on a tree.  I watched a caterpillar morph into a butterfly.  I've played with silly string, jumped on the trampoline, and drew with chalk in the yard.  It's amazing how stopping to notice the world like a child does relieves so much stress.  It also brings you back down to earth, and makes you realize that there is more to life than washing the clothes, going to work, or paying the bills.  It is so easy to get caught up in day to day living, that we sometimes forget to stop and enjoy what we have around us.  And by the way, yes, bubbles DO make everything better.

Wow. It's amazing when you realize how many things you take for granted. Thanks for sharing your story!!

You Know what's funny Kel, ? Without ever having met you face to face, I could see you doing these things you just mentioned. It really made me smile. I love doing those things too, and sometimes we all get bogged down with things in our life that don't even matter. If we all would just stop, take our shoes off, find a soft spot of green grass and walk around on it, we could make a lot of stress go away. Or lay down on that little piece of earth, with our arms stretched out to the sides, and just listen, Life could be ok for a little while. By the way, I agree about the bubbles!<br />
