I Get Carried On My Mom'S Hip

I think I am not the only teen boy that still gets picked up and carried on my mom's hip or taken by the hand in mall.

I'm a little person (under 3' tall but not by lots) so my mom says I can be taken or hurted in malls.

The only ok thing is if I'm super tired I can put my head on her shoulder and fall asleep but I don't do that lot only if I'm really tired.

What do other moms think? Other teens?

It's ok if you think it's so dumb caus I don't like it neether.

I wouldn't have liked it, but if I saw it I would just have thought "I feel bad for that boy... glad my mom does do that!"

I have a daughter of short stature and she is 2 and the size of a 5 month old baby and weighs about 17 pounds and is healthy and happy...when she grows up I will not be carrying her on my hip or anything like that, mostly because I want her to learn to be able to walk through a crowd without bashing people or getting stepped on. Your mother needs to stop, she is enabling you to be socially defenseless and awkward.

I think it's disrespectful of your Mum, I've seen lots of small people and they do just fine. I wouldn't accept a spanking from her either. I would ask her to stop, you are an adult after all.

  Not by my mum. I get spanked by my husband because we *choose* to do that, it's totally different to be forces to just because you are smaller than other people and therefore percieved as weak and unable to make decisions by yourself.

I can see both sides of the story here. I see your moms perspctive as far as wanting to protect you as much as possible. Im sure she does what she feels is best for you :) I can also see your point that you want to be treated like your peers. That is totally understandable. And I agree. You should be allowed your freedoms and the opportunity to live as normal of a life as you can. This opportunity of Independence, is what shapes us into who we are. So I hope someday, you're able to make a compromise with your mom so you can get what you want and she can feel that you're protected in doing so.
just keep in mind, parents don't have all the answers. In an instanct in which they are faced with a situation they don't know the answer to, they weigh out the pros and cons or use deductive reasoning, then choose a solution and hope for the best. They are not always right and they are not always the best choices. But just know they are doing the very best they can :)
