Rise of the Real People

A personal story in the experience: I Struggle With My Body Image

the only thing that concerns me is the only agency modeling 'real people' is named the 'the ugly new york agency.' its name alone can still send a bad message to 'real people'

but aside from its name, i'm happy with what the company is doing. i woud much rather see a size 12 woman wear what i am considering buying. it gives me a better idea of what the clothes will actually look like on me...

It is amazing how many women think they have to look like the girls in magazines, on television, or in the movies in order for a man to notice them.....the truth is that we guys see you better than you see yourselves. Im a guy who likes women natural and real, I have never been attracted to the "airbrushed" look ( makeup, hairstyles, clothes, perfect figures, etc.). To me, beauty includes the imperfections, and it is a natural beauty coming from within as well as without.....and Im sure there are many guys out there who can identify and agree with this. A fantasy is a fantasy, but a woman is for real.

Hmm, I kinda think the body image thing cuts both ways. Just because girls are worried about their looks to the extent that they starve themselves (or even if they're honestly just naturally skinny) it's unfair to say, as it's become totally accepted to do, that they aren't "real people". I know people using the phrase are intending to criticise the fashion/journalism.media industries, but it has to be seen as a personal insult by some of the women themselves.

perhaps, unless they've had any type of 'enhancements' done to improve their body image....then they are literally fake, or atleast parts of them are..

and i have nothing against that, i'd have a few things touched up if i could afford to.

and its technically offensive on both sides, considering 'real people' are considered average and homely looking....
