The Battles of Scotland,

A personal story in the experience: I Study Scottish History to 7,500 Years

it sounds like you may in fact related to the huntlys as the earl of huntly lived in edinburgh in the cannongate.about 1730.this is due to you saying that huntly castle was from your family at some time but you do not know when.you are f rom leith about 1900. do you have any details of that time

or it is only due to your family being only working there so what details do you have ,of your family in lieth

The family came from Scotland to America around the early 1900's to America. Our Scottish name would be Leith. Grandfather was a pro golfer and was invited to USA becaouse of it.
Sorry that's all I know. He spoke of the ring of castles and Huntly and thats where I found some information was in the house of records in Edinburgh. I stayed at the Ballquitier house in Leith and they where very helpful to some of what I am previe too

in fact your family is not from lieth.general alexander lieth hay was born on the 17 feb 1785,at lieth hall at kennethmont in aberdeen. type in general alexander lieth hay and you will get the full details on google

Thank you for your help. Was Alaxander Leith not from the Huntly castle.

no he is nothing to do with huntly castle but it is better than that your family owned lieth hall which you can go and see

the lieth came from france about 1350 the ground lieth hall stands on was bought from the huntlys othere lands were allso bought.
