I Suffer From Migraines
I've suffered from very bad migraine since the age of 12. It started quite suddenly. I was sick for a year, lost so much weight that I was nothing but skin and bones. Just eating a bite of pizza made me get nauseous. I was lucky though, my moms sister suffers from migraine to and slowly she helped me to learn how to live with it, to be strong like her.
It wasn't easy. Getting headaches all the time, waking up nauseous every morning, feeling dizzy, super sensitivity to light, smells and sounds, visual problems...
It took time, but in the end I learned a way to live with it, and just to live like any normal girl my age. I put on some weight again, started attending school everyday and stopped migraine from ruling my life.
I've had my ups and downs of course. I've tried so many medications that I cant count them. But nothing ever helps. Now I get sick if I take anything with codeine in it, and I've lost almost all hope of ever finding any medication that can help.
Two years ago I finally got enough of the constant pain, even though I rarely show it, it takes it toll. So I decided to change my whole life. I stopped eating anything with sugar in it, wheat, yeast, processed food, to much salts and milk products. And I started working out more. Hiking, swimming, jogging, yoga, jiujitsu etc. It was hard at first but no I love it!
I still have bad migraine. I get my usual headaches, nausea and all of that. But its more bearable. Even if it only helps a little it makes a big difference. I'm still hoping for a miracle cure, but until then I've found a way to make my days easier.
Has anyone else found some way to cope with their migraine?
