    Hi,

I too have had BAD PID infections a few times in my life. I have one now. I was in the ER yesterday and they put me on a Doxycycline IV, then gave me a big shot, took ultra sounds and sent me home. I'm still not over it at all. But I don't understand why I get them? I'm NOT having sex with multiple partners, I don't have an STD or STI and find it really annoying that they associate PID with STDs as I have never had one. The first time I got it was from an IUD when I was 23. But I've had it 3 times since then (I'm 52 now). It seems like I must be prone to getting bacteria up my uterus somehow. I don't do any crazy sex things--I'm quite boring and have been married for 16 years. If you read the info on PID they say the natural bacteria that lives on your cervix can cause it if it gets in your uterus, so why do they associate it with STDs? Annoying.

I read that its often if you had PID one time, that you will have it again.

Hi, I got diagnosed with pid 8 month ago. They tested me of std's -all negative. They tested as well my partner-negative . My son is now 11 month old but they confirmed me that giving birth was not the trigger for the pid. Since I've got diagnosed they have put me every two weeks onto different antibiotics but to some of them I reacted allergic to and some of them just made me feel a bit better but till now nothing helped to get rip of this pid. To be honest I can truly believe how you must feel. I have constantly pain and pretty much live of the pain killers at the moment. On top i got diagnosed last week with a urin track infection and trust me it doesn't make anything better. My sex life with my partner is non existing and I do blame the pid for it. The pain just puts me off. It is a living nightmare and o wished there would be a wonder pill to rake this pid away. I lo e to have more children that's why it is very hart for me at the moment to wait till the docs figured out how to treat my pid. My doc has transferred me to a gyno specialist but because it's on nhs and there are pretty busy I have to wIt bow till end of September till I will find out how much damage is already done and if they can treat me without having surgery. It just a nightmare waiting game at the mo. I don't know if this helped you in anyway but I just wanted to let you know , your not alone with this! I think my partner is pretty much fed up with my tears daily. The pid has changed my life a lot till now and the ups and downs are horrible during all those test and results . In the first instant I already thought Omg my partner must have had an affair... Well he didn't. I am pretty ashamed and frustrated and just up set with this all. As soon I find out more about the treatment possibilities I'll let you k ow, may it helps you. I hope your feeling better soon xxx

Btw, the ER doc was actually wrong and it was actually my endometriosis that was really, really bad before I had my surgery. I do not have PID. Woo hoo! Going to leave the group. Bye, bye! ER doc was dumb. lol

In the ER, they gave me two shots of Dilaudid and 4 Darvocets before the pain subsided. That only lasted a few hours. I am really hurting again. They prescribed me Percocet for pain and Naproxen for inflammation. I am going to take the Percocet before bed so that I can sleep through the night.
