I thought I would share my story. The first time this happened to me I was 11 years old. I feel asleep as usual, but this night I had a nightmare of my room catching on fire and I barely escaped alive with a teddy bear from the second story window.
I jumped out of my sleep only to return to sleep a little while later.
In the morning, I started to wake up, but I could barely open my eyes for half second before they forced themselves shut. My whole body felt as though I had ran a marathon and there was a tingling, numb sensation all over and I could not move or open my mouth to speak.
I was terrified. To afraid to tell anyone, afraid I was cursed or something like that.
It felt like hours went by in this dazed state but it couldn't have been more than a minute or two.

This continues on every now and then, the last time this happened was maybe back in March.
but I have "fought it off" alot of times the most recent being a few weeks ago
I feel it start to happen and I forced my self to move around and get up, drink water something
and it will go away before it fully starts.

The state of your brain is up while your body is still asleep.
Nothing any doctor can do.
It's just a weird occurrence.
It's still scary everytime it happens. I don't even like talking about it and never mentioned it to anyone I know.
Cool to know Im not the only person like this, for a while I thought I was.

Hi there. I've had em to. There is a reason why it happens and there is a way to defend yourself from the attacks. Firstly I will explain why it happens. There are two types of super natural beings. 1 - Angels that are obedient to God and 2 - Demons who are not obedient to God. Jehovah is God - and Jesus is second in command. On the other hand - Satan is Gods arch nemesis whom is leader of the Demons - But there was a time when there was no rivalry between them. There was time when it was wonderful. But Lucifer coveted God and wanted to be like him but - God was hurt and because of that hurt Satan felt rejected and his sense of rejection was worse because his angelic brothers witnessed it. This grudge between them grew over the years and became worse. In time other angels joined the Devil and eventually a great war broke out in heaven. The Devil and the Demons were cast down out of heaven to the earth bringing Satan's great anger - But one of the main reasons why Satan and Demons are so angry is because of the prison sentence that soon awaits them after Armageddon hits earth. The Devil and the Demons want to make as much destruction as possible before their time comes and THAT IS WHY THEY HURT MANKIND. Point 2 - How to defend yourself from Sleep Paralysis. Praying to Jesus works - But Praying to Jehovah is much more potent. Also keep a bible handy and put it under your pillow - I recommend the "New world translation of the holy scriptures". Also certain environmental factors contribute to a demon attack. Things that have dark overtones ie - Dark Music, Horror Movies, Tarot cards, Black magic, Seances rituals, ouija boards - Stay away from these types of things and KEEP these dark objects away and if need be destroy them. Even an object that looks innocent can harbor dark connections beyond them. Go through your stuff and throw away anything suspicious or if need be shuffle them around and see what stuff is bad and what is not (Which might take a long time). Finally - The true aspect of our reality is - The closer you are to God the safer you are and call on his name it'll shake the evil away from you and most importantly don't give up if it keeps happening. If you need more assistance go to www.jw.org. At the bottom of the site is a link for bible study and if you need one then the option is yours. Havn't had a SP experience in a while but had em so many times they don't scare me anymore. Mind you my experience with them might have been more mild due to the fact that I know the truth about Jehovah and Satan and us men in the mix. Knowledge is power. All the best and if you do go for a bible study don't be shy and ask for a bible - they will give you one for free. All the best and I hope you sleep better.

I've done this b4 but I'm okay now. It takes a lot of patience and will power to pull urself out of it, I'm very glad it hasn't happened to me in a few years

Sleep paralysis is very scary. I remember when i first experience it. My body felt so heavy. My arms felt to heavy to move it was so strange the first time it happened. My whole body felt so heavy and everything was black. I cannot say I am used to it but I do deal with it better now.

It feels nice to know im not alone

It's easier said than done...but you have to give into to it and allow yourself to "die". It literally feels like your dying by going into an abysmal slumber, but that's just the ego arguing to keep reign over your consciousness. The ego is fighting to keep your experience limited to it, but your soul is beckoned to evolve and experience other dimensions of reality and your higher/truer self. You're not alone.

Wow, it interesting to see it like that, it is still frightening to me but I do want to learn more about it from you

I'll tell you all what I've learned and know

Please consider: Ive experienced sleep paralysis from young and still do. A metaphysical teacher explained to me that the paralysis is precursor for out-of-body experience. Essentially, the soul is looking to evolve, and the paralysis is a mechanism to prevent physical body from acting out what the causal or astral body does in alternate realm (for example: if in the dream realm you were throwing a football, without paralysis, you could very well be in a sleep state throwing lamp against the wall).

That's not paralysis, its called being asleep. And I've had an outer body experience. Its not a dream, its just u floating around in a spiritual form

Sleep Paralysis and obe are distinctly different but one can serve as harbinger for other. Sleep paralysis is not merely "sleep" because person is consciously aware and unable to move and in most instances speak.

I know dickhead

Essentially, sleep, sleep paralysis, and outer body experience are each distinguished phenomena

Sounds debilitating. The first time I am sure was scary, but at least now you know what it is. How rare is it?

Must be pretty rare, I haven't met anyone else with it besides the people on EP
