My First Deployment

This is just a short note , i have just come back from my first deployment to the Soloman Islands ,as i am with the Australiam Army, the support from home was great too from the people at home , "friends family and others"

i had been in the army reserve for 25 plus years and finally got the big chance and yes i enjoyed it, and want to do it again .

Two peices of advice for those deployed and those at home , Keep the letters email and all the communication between you going while the person is deployed ,

For the soldier ,they are good enought to write to you , so you should be good enough to write back,i relise it may be hard sometimes but get through it , it works as a stress releif after awhile

Secondly , any problems between you and your family back home MUST BE SORTED BEFORE YOU DEPLOY , they don't fix them selves while you are away

REMEMBER , BAD NEWS DOES NOT GET BETTER WITH AGE

To all veterans from all conflicts and deployments

I SALUTE YOU

I'm U.S Airman myself! And I appreciate anyone who supports soldeirs. I think it's important, because not too many Americans support the troops. thank you for your story!
