I Have A Peach Tree

I bought a peach tree a little while ago, and it was already about 6 or 7 feet tall, with little fruit buds on it. What I noticed is that the base, about a foot and some inches above the ground, is a y-shape. Will that cause any issues with growth later? Should I do anything to bring the two halves together?

    The limbs are growing perfectly, but I was wondering how long it would take for the base to get thicker? And taller? I feel like the limbs are kind of outgrowing the bottom half of the tree.
