Who Wants To Live In An Institution?

This is an issue of human rights, and equality under law. If two people wish to make a public declaration of love and commitment, there should be no legal impediment to such a union, regardless of their sexual orientation.

Although why gay, lesbian and trans-gender couples would want to chain themselves together in this way bemuses me, just as much as heterosexuals' desire for marriage.

I consider marriage an outdated institution whose only contemporary relevance is concerned with property rights.
