Love Is Lovegfo

A personal story in the experience: I Support Gay Marriage
I think we should all say screw western religious wedding ceremonies and have civil unions instead. Save the christian weddings for the people who want to have that sort of relationship and share that belief. Love is love. I don't see how it could be bad or wrong for two people who love each other to want to unite and share that with their friends and family. I know a lot of gays and lesbians in long term committed relationships that have very strong morals, stronger morals than some of the people who think their morals are what should prevent such unions. Love and let love.

Lots of us are Christians, though. We should have that option if we want it.
The white dress, the rice, the limo, sharing a love between ourselves and our gods.
It's important. We don't want to have to hide. We want to be acknowledged as gods children as much as anyone else is.

sure. if you are of the christian faith then having a christian wedding is one thing. I don't think it should be the only option that gets acknowledged. :) Most Christians that I know of only believe in one god, but yeah.

I don't think you understood me. I understand what you're saying.

I am in a "marriage" and I wouldn't care at all if it were a civil union instead. And none of my lesbian or gay friends who consider themselves married would mind having a civil union, in fact all of them would love it if they could be acknowledged in that way. I think it just depends on who you know and what their opinions are.

I am not, myself, a Christian. I was just using an example of one of many many gods that we might want to be married in the sight of.
How many straights do you know who have a "civil union"? They call it "marriage" plain and simple. They are allowed to, they are encouraged to. We are given something half-assed because a bunch of men wearing freakin dresses refuse to acknowledge us. Still. In 2000 freakin 8.
Sorry but this topic really ****** me off.....

Umm...what does having sex with underage kids have to do with gay marriage? The only ones I see doing that are priests of the catholic variety.

Their religion has nothing to do with that. It wasnt the religion that made them do it. It was their own will that did it. I still dont know why people hate Christians. Whats their issue. Have you been let down by one or is it just an easy target?

Marriage needn't have anything to do with religion, I married in a civil ceremony and it is still valid.

What is unbelievable is that people are still being denied this basic human right due to their sexual orientation. It is discrimination.

If gay people want to legalize their relationships, our laws provide a way to do this.

How can one attach a sacrament, a ceremony for something sacred, to sexual deviance? 'Man and woman created he them.'

Everyone of us is genetically predisposed to some form of aberration. Love of money, addictions, Personality disorders and on and on ie...We all have something to overcome.

Perhaps you could overcome the obsessive need to redefine what the majority holds sacred. The sacrament of marriage.

There is one God and many concepts of him. His laws do not go against natural order.

You really must learn to respect the opinion of majority, as you try to force majority to respect your opinion.

This is a democracy, is it not?

Actually, I think you will find that it is now only a minority that does not support gay marriage.

Secondly, like I said before marriage need't have anything to do with religion for it to be called and recognised as a marriage. There is certainly nothing sacred about the institution any more.

Thirdly, I am an atheist...But if I'm wrong about that and god did in fact create the world and everything in it, then he created homosexuality.

Fourth and perhaps most important, homosexuality is not a choice nor a deviance it is an orientation, and can no more be overcome than I could 'overcome' the colour of my eyes.

So you are an athiest. This means that you deny your source, the life that animates you and your highest gift...free choice.

Perhaps, this is why you are sleepless. Without a higher power, you must have the world on your shoulders.
