I don't see them changing to federal laws giving us the right either. Not within the next 20 years. Obama does not support gay marriage which breaks my heart.

With that said, I don't see it happening under his presidency and G-d help us if the GOP takes over again.

I would love to see a federal anti-discrimination law that gives all Americans the same unalienable rights to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness. We have those words in the constitution however for some of us, they ring hollow.

Each state already has its own laws regarding marriage - even of straight couples. I don't see them changing it to federal anytime soon.

jeez ... it is so disappointing. hard to take.

do you think it will EVER happen in your lifetime? Obama never agreed to legalize gay marriage ..

do you believe it should be legal on a federal level or keep going state to state?

From what I understand, the count was so one-sided, why bother still counting...the loss was pretty signficant.

I'm not from California, but I do hope that Prop 8 does NOT get passed. Everyone should be allowed the same rights.
