I Don't Get Why Gay People Can't Be Together

Alright, so a man loves a women, okay. Why can't a man love a man, or a women love a women?

Why? Because the Bible said so? Because God said so?

First of all, religion is pretty much objective, so not allowing gay marriage is like not allowing people to believe in what they believe in...and I'm pretty sure somewhere in the Constitution it says that you can believe anything you want.

But forget the Constitution...this is something else.

If you like a person and want to marry them....then go ahead! I really don't see why people make such a BIG deal of it.

I'm personally not gay, but I know people who are. I'm not friends with them or anything, but I honestly don't see why people DON'T support gay rights.

I myself don't understand why it's legal to not allow same sex couples get married. They aren't going to rip of tax payers money, they don't physically or emotionally harm anyone (except for maybe themselves if they are with the wrong person, but that has nothing to do with being gay), and it is pretty much going by an old fashion rule where the Bible has a partial influence on it and relgion and the government is suppose to be seperate. I can understand where a church is allowed to deny a gay marriage, but I don't understand why the government is allowed. It never really made any sense to me. And what makes it even worse is that the majority of the California people voted against gay marriages and now homosexual couples can no longer get married. The United Sates is very similar to a 3rd World country in my opinion.

Gay people are allowed to be together. I don't know of any law that prohibits that and such a law would be ridiculous too. When it comes to marriage however I think that it is something way too traditional to include gay couples. Marriage was meant to be for a man and a woman to start a family. Gays or lesbians can only do that by adoption and even that would be a very artificial (forced?) family. <br />
Having said all that I have to admit that marriage has really lost a lot of its meaning these days. Most marriages fail and do not last forever which makes the entire concept very questionable. Humans are probably not meant to be monogamous. Under today's circumstances and my own experience with marriage I would say that any two people who want to be married should be allowed to, even gays and lesbians. Times change and marriage has to change too, otherwise it will be obsolete soon.
