That's not taking into account the reported internet conference of the administrations 40 major US cities held last week to discuss ways to deal with and disperse the "problem" of democratic popular protests.

Unfortunately not--it was just one of those headlines I heard on the news while I was doing other things last week. I didn't hear the follow-up report or any of the details, just the "teaser" telling people to turn in later for the full story.

True Aether... it's something we've all been shouting at the top of our lungs... but to see it in writing, i have to hope, just might cause some of these "see-no-evil" republican supporters to examine their affiliations more closely in the coming local elections.... *crosses fingers, but won't hold breath*

I would love for it to start from the top with the Dems - yes that means you Obama - the OWS movement needs to be supported by the politicians. I pray it has lasting energy and swells into a huge movement that defines the elections next year. I will vote for any politician that stands with the OWS protesters.

Yet another case of Chicken-little!... "the sky is falling, the sky is falling"... Who took them up on this UNSOLICITED meno?.. NO ONE: quote from the link provided: "ABA spokesperson, confirmed that the association got the memo. “Our Government Relations staff did receive the proposal – it was unsolicited and we chose not to act on it in any way,” he said in a statement to "Up.""

The sky is falling the sky is falling!...So laughable. Bill in Va.

oh, silly billy. the SMALL view is to cling to the fact (the way you are so desperately doing) that the ABA claims it thought better than to take these idiots up on their proposal.

the BROADER perspective is to understand that the intentional erosion of Constitutional rights in this country by a group of Republican lobbyists is an INFINITELY greater problem than the one naively you feel you have escaped.

but i don't expect you to understand. that's why i posted the article in THIS group, of OWS supporters, and not in one of your incestuous echo-chambers.

billy is a self-professed swallower of all of that regurgitant that Fox likes to call "news". the sad truth is, Fox execs wouldn't recognize real fact-based news if it smacked them upside their propaganda machines.

dang, saw this post too late, the whole time reading comments (up to second page) I kept thinking "wonder what 'ole bill will say to this" and got my answer on page 2 of comments...

...and his defense sounds very similar to a guy in a religious argument thread talking about how all mass-murder shootings since columbine were all done by atheists...when I responded with documented evidence of one non-amish man, who basically hosed down a school-house of children in an amish school-house because of his problems "with god and his miscarried child 8 years ago" as an argument (given the note he wrote beforehand), the person I debated with stated simply "OH! that was no christian, no christian can hate god in his heart, my statement still stands"
Hilarious, eh? And who is the chicken little, again?

As an addendum, every time I think of Fox News, altogether, all I can think about it adult swim's portrayal of Murdoch seizing the real-life role of captain planet and ****-kicking everyone and everybody around him, lol. It really did seem a realistic portrayal, though exaggerated of course.

I'm all for getting lobbyists out of politics, Bill. I'm sure most of the people that post here are. I'm sure most of the OWS protesters would also be for that. Does that make you want to change your position? Or can we agree to agree?

americans should be ashamed of themselves to believe the garbage that is put to them in the mass media. one of the many things that they should be ashamed is that there is actually a difference between the democratic and republican party. the other thing is that the american people actually do have a voice in the choosing of their elected presidents. americans have become very lazy and do not take time to question that what is presented on the boob tube. americans believe that their votes caste is counted. when the fact of the matter is that their votes count the same way counted as the votes were counted in the all of the elections in the communist soviet union and their puppet controlled countries.

americans are not aware of the fact that all of the election totalls are counted and controlled by a foreign company owned by the israeli defense department and the electronic DIEBOLD voting machines used in the federal elections are built and owned by israeli companies.

americans are like guilty parents giving the keys to the car and the kids drive it carelessy through the streets hitting and killing people as the parents are drunk on cheap liquor sports and stupid entertainment as the whole nation goes down the drain. they know the times an actor sleeps with another actor and knows the sports averages of sport fiquors but does not know who actually controlls the elections of their government officials.

WAKE UP AMERICA to the REALITY that in Every Primary Election HELD to DATE their was VOTER FRAUD and NONE of this was reported by the CONTROLLED American Mass Media!

BBC Investigative Documentary on Al Qaeda ://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-hYorNi0nA&feature=player_embedded#

"The truth is, there is no Islamic army or terrorist group called Al Qaida. And any informed intelligence officer knows this. But there is a propaganda campaign to make the public believe in the presence of an identified entity representing the 'devil' only in order to drive the TV watcher to accept a unified international leadership for a war against terrorism. The country behind this propaganda is the US . . ."
-- Former British Foreign Secretary Robin Cook

"Ana raicha Al Qaeda" is colloquial for "I'm going to the toilet". A very common and widespread use of the word "Al-Qaeda" in different Arab countries in the public language is for the toilet bowl. This name comes from the Arabic verb "Qa'ada" which mean "to sit", pertinently, on the "Toilet Bowl". In most Arabs homes there are two kinds of toilets: "Al-Qaeda" also called the "Hamam Franji" or foreign toilet, and "Hamam Arabi" or "Arab toilet" which is a hole in the ground. Lest we forget it, the potty used by small children is called "Ma Qa'adia" or "Little Qaeda". So, if you were forming a terrorist group, would you call yourself, "The Toilet"?

The Israeli Defense Firm That Tallies The Iowa Caucus
    By Christopher Bollyn
    1-1-8

The Iowa caucus is only a few days away and the nation's attention will be directed to the results, which signify the beginning of the U.S. presidential race. But does anyone watch who tallies the results of the Iowa caucus?

The Iowa caucus results were tallied in 2004 by a company that is headed by a man whose company was bought by Elron Electronics, the Israeli defense firm. I suspect that it will be the same this year. Don't expect to see any grassroots political activists doing the tally in Iowa. The Israeli defense establishment takes care of that part of the American "democratic" election process.

    VOXEO

In the summer of 2004, I first learned that a foreign and out-of-state company using Interactive Voice Response (IVR) technology tallied the Iowa caucus results.

The system used to tally the 2004 Iowa caucus results was provided by a company called Voxeo, which was apparently based in Orlando, Florida. (Yellow flag goes up in the mind of those familiar with Orlando and electronic vote fraud history
