What A Great Guy!I support Ron Paul because he seems just like a GREAT GUY, something I never see in American politics. He doesn't seem to be motivated by power or money...just his intrinsic integrity. Honestly, he REALLY excites me in a way that no other presidential candidate ever has. Obama spoke of change but never specified what that change would be until he was already elected. Paul actually speaks of what he will do to help our country in a very specific way. Go to his website, and you'll see it! I don't agree with every single thing he plans on doing, but it's unrealistic to think there can ever be a politician that you agree with 100%...everyone has differing views. But for the most part, I agree with him. Just imagining having a good, honest, intrinsically motivated president makes me feel like our country isn't as doomed as I thought.
But on the other hand, I don't feel like the Republican party, or even the Electoral College, will vote for him. Why? Because of everything I described above. Ron Paul is an outlier in the American political system because he is such a good, uncorrupted man. Most American politicians are not, so these politicians most likely will not vote for him. Even if he does win all the Republican primaries (which is highly unlikely), and he eventually wins the popular vote, there's no guarantees that he'll win the electoral vote. Yeah, that's how cynical I am of politicians. The Electoral College knows who their constituents like, but they have nothing preventing them from voting against our will. Just that they say they support Ron Paul doesn't mean they actually do.
I don't know...it just seems like Ron Paul as president is too good to be true, which is why I believe it WON'T BE true. Usually things that are too good to be true aren't.
