As a nurse I help strangers everyday. The most recent was a very difficult family member who had alienated all of the medical, nursing and ancillary staff on our unit. He requested to be present for a simple procedure that was non invasive. The therapists involved wanted no part of it. In the midst of two therapists literally yelling at me in the nursing station, I stood my ground and allowed the man to be present to support his ailing father. I had absolutely no reason to do this, I didn't know this man from adam. But, I withstood the scorn of my peers to help an absolute stranger. I wouldn't change that action for a million dollars. (A million and a half, I'd have to reconsider. But a million, no... ;)

Not too long ago the lady at the end of my block, a quite street, had a three legged little dog named tippy..her dog got out one night and was barking furiously up and down the street..I suspected something was wrong and went outside..he wanted me to follow him home obviously by his taunting barks if i turned away. so I followed, his owner had been sick and couldnt breath-knocking on the door to see if she was alright alerted a caretaker next door to come check on her and took her to the hospital...

A couple days ago, I was at the fair and a lady was at a ATM machine get cash or something and when she left her purse fell out of her backpack, I picked it up and gave it to her cuz she didn't notice :)

and old woman was in a shop and she had dropped an onion i noticed she was struggling so i picked it up for her, she didnt seem too happy i guess she thought i was pittying her , i wasnt at all . just trying to help .

Most of my marriage has been great. But whenever i tell my husband that i am lonely because he spends more time with his friends than me he blows up and tells me to leave. i already feel like im gone. All i want is for him to do special things for me and want to make an effort to give me and him a night out without kids. how do i resolve this please help

I gave $5.00 to a man at a redlight with a sign that said "anything will help." I don't have much money, so that was all I could give.

On an Amtrak train in New Rochelle, NY. I helped a man with CP who was using crutches get his suitcase on the overhead shelf. On that same train, I lent my cell phone to a woman who had to call a friend and let her know the train was delayed.

I don't remember exactly (see blog #4 about my memory), but I was in a grocery store, and this 80 year old man dropped what appeared to be some kind of box shaped magnifying glass. I picked it up for him. He thanked me.<br />

My name is paul. I reside in Chicago, Illinois. I have noticed that you have cool spaceship images. I am trying to obtain a permission to grab science fiction halo ships and animate them on my website. Copy and paste the link. I rather get a permission than getting in trouble. I am not going to be selling these pictures on amazon or ebay. I just want to put them on my website. They will be only applied on my website and animating them. Please feel free to share. Yesterday, it was supposed to get up to around 100 degrees- the sun was beating down; it just wasn't a day to be outside.<br />
<br />
I was on an errand and drove by an older man (kind of looked like Santa Claus, lol- shorter facial hair, though) standing on the median of an intersection, begging for change (he's been in our neighborhood before but I never met him). I went to get my bottle of milk from 7/11, and thought about him. Came out with a huge bottle of water, a can of iced tea (both really cold) and a turkey sandwich. I packed them into a plastic bag, and briefly stopped and handed him the bag, along with two dollars.<br />
Yay, karma.

a week ago i helped a man when he dropped his crutch!

Yesterday when they couldent cross the street

I help strangers most day, I volunteer at Oxfam

i try to everyday

today

At this point I'd rather help a stranger than people that I know.

When I was born. Well see when I was born I helped my mother by being her child but that time she was a stranger to me.

Today, I helped change a tire for a twentysomething that had no idea how, but she did after I showed her. It was not her fault completely, just never thought she'd need to know. Ah innocence...........<br />
I hold a door open for many, when I could at a fast food place in the drive in , I would pay for their meal and drive off................that is so thrilling.

Our neighbor has ALS and we bring him good stuff to eat all the time. He really looks forward to getting it too, because he tells his friends and family about all he good stuff he eats.

Today. I live in a small English village, and was having a quiet drink, in a local hotel beer garden, reading my newspaper, with just my wee dog as company.<br />
An American family sat next to me, and ordered some food.<br />
We got chatting and they explained that they were travelling to Nottinham (30 miles away),. But got off the train at the wrong stop!<br />
Being a Sunday, trains are few and far between.<br />
So I told them to enjoy their lunch and I would return in an hour's time.<br />
I walked home, took out my car and returned as promised.<br />
When we got to Nottingham, I dropped them off at their hotel.<br />
They offered to pay me £100 for my trouble...but I refused.<br />
I have hitched lifts as a student (many years ago!) and was glad to help out,<br />
y mother told me as a child: "If you can't do someone a good turn, don't do them a bad one!"<br />
It has stuck with me ever since.<br />

What kind of sex education do you think kids ought get in school?Anto815

salam

yesterday! i work in a tourist area and am often asked directions..does that count?

Well, I was at the gas station and there was a redbull for $3 or 2 for $4. I was just like, nah i only want one! To the clerk but this stranger was like, hey man do you want to get 2 and we could just both spend 2 dollars each. So i was like, right on man. There you go.

Honestly, I haven't in a long time. I don't really remember when the last time was when I helped a stranger. This question has made me think. It's embarrassing that I am unable to answer your question. However, I would like to add that I love helping people and I really do not keep an account of it. I just do it. I'm sorry.

The Last Time I Helped A Stranger Was In Church..Anto815

i was sitting near a busy intersection, a woman was crossing the street and her heel got stuck in a street car track, she tripped, businessmen casually walked by her staring at her as they passed her on the ground, i got up, went over to her and put out my hand, "let me help u up" she looked at me for a few moments, she reached out and I helped her up, she said thank you. all these businessmen just let her remain on the ground, what a bunch of ********... sorry for the swearing but if the shoe fits...

I believe it was when someone visiting the city asked for directions, about a week ago. I must admit, when I'm strolling in the public I rarely wear my happy face.

Today~a neighbor was drunk & could'nt stand up~ let alone drive her friend home~ so I did.

I do it all the time. I'm a bus driver and many of my passengers are elderly. It's part of the job if you do it properly.
