Clerk Pulls Gun And Robber Flees

A Florida man who police say tried robbing a convenience store with a cattle prod met his match when the clerk pulled a gun.

Lance Tomberlin, 26, went into the store outside Tallahassee last week and demanded money, shocking the clerk several times with a cattle prod, The Associated Press reported.

Tomberlin fled when the clerk pulled a handgun.

Deputies stopped Tomberlin's truck, but he escaped on foot.

Tomberlin was arrested Tuesday and charged with armed robbery and aggravated battery, according to the AP.

Thanks for sharing this link okcgal. The mainstream media does not report these stories, but incidents where citizens successfully defend themselves with a firearm are quite common. The CDC estimates there are more than 500,000 of these incidents occurring every year. In the vast majority of the situations, the potential victim merely brandishes a firearm, and the perpetrator flees. However, the FBI reported that in 2013, there were nearly 250 justified shootings in which the perp was fatally wounded.
