I know the route I was driving very well, and I remember driving by my parents road quite fine. Somewhere between there, and 3 miles later I started getting really really drowsy. I remember I had the option at a fork to either take the road I was on, or to get on the highway, and I said to myself "Eh, I don't feel like being on the highway." Let me tell you I will never regret that decision. I started falling asleep shortly after this fork in the road. I delivered pizza up until the crash, so like I said, I know the route very well. Well I guess me being tired, on top of the heater being on, I fell asleep, and I don't remember doing it.
I just remember feeling the road get bumpy, meaning I was sailing through the dirt, and I started screaming "Oh my god" I did not hit the brakes, because I was just coming out of the sleep I was in. I wasn't wearing my seatbelt, and I just remember being 30 ft from the trees and surrendering all control I had over the car and let it do what it was going to do. I hit 2 trees going 45mph. All I could smell was the liquids to my car and I got out at first. I couldn't get out of my door, and I tasted blood, so I got out the passenger side door, and began the frantic search for my phone. I looked all over the seat and under it, before I remembered I usually drive with it between my legs, so I had to figure out how to search the drivers side, that's when I realized I'd hit my knees and couldn't kneel. But eventually I found my phone on the floor and called 911. As I was speaking to the lady, a cop drove at least 50 past me, turned around and came back. I didn't know where I was until then. I crashed directly in front of the middle school in my town, but on the wrong side of the road.
They (EMT's and Police and Family) say I'm very lucky to be alive. I believe them. I should've worn my seatbelt, but I didn't. I lost a sister that way. My injuries weren't terrible enough to where I needed to go to the hospital, but they still hurt. I chomped a large chunk out of my mouth, my arm looks like it's decaying from all the bruising, my left wrist has bruises all where my tattoo is, and my right knee is still very swollen and disgusting to look at. Nothing is broken, and I'm a very lucky lady.
I'm very afraid to be in cars right now, and I went back to get the things out of my car, and almost vomitted.
