Good for you! They bring so much joy these strays.

I picked up a white stray cat about three weeks ago that was starving and had a cancer on her ear the size of a tennis ball.

We were visiting a holiday resort that had been closed up for a couple of years and the strays got no food. This little cat came into our bungalow and collapsed on the floor from hunger. She was filthy and extremely emaciated and had this suppurating bleeding tumour on her ear. I live in a hot sunny country and the cancer probably developed bacause she is an albino with no pigment in the skin. My husband and I put her in a cooler box (the only thing that could double up as a carry box for her) and took her home with us. We took her straight to the vet who wanted to put her down, but when he heard that she has a good appetite he agreed that we should give her a chance. After fattening her up for two weeks so she could withstand the anaesthetic, we took her for her operation. He cut off the ear and removed another smaller cancer from her cheek. Her right eye has a cataract, but apart from this she's beautiful. With fur thats snow white after a couple of shampoos, she regained all her self respect.

She is coming along nicely, but has to wear a collar till the wounds heal. She looks a little lopsided with the one short ear and the blind eye, and now the side of her head is shaved as well! She hates the collar, but eats like crazy. Tonight I took off the collar for the first time, and she just kept on touching her ear with her little paw - so happy that the heavy growth is gone!

What do you think I should call her? She is so lovable - but has a problem with the litter box. She does not understand what its for then she sleeps in the litter and pees in the bed. How do I teach her that she should go in the litter box?

He's adorable! It looks like he's wearing a white tie! A very dapper looking guy...you said he's mild-mannered? You could name him Clark Kent!
