Is It Really Monday Morning?

I take trains every day to and from work, and usually nothing much happens.  You get on, ignore the people around you, and then get off.

This morning, I found several reasons to smile.  The first was the incongruity of an older gentleman sitting accross from me, dressed in a business suit and listening to his iPod.  I usually see younger people with those.

The 2nd was a little boy who got on with his mother.  They stood until the 1st stop, when a man offered her his seat just in front of where I was standing.  The little boy was no more than 2 years old, wich huge brown eyes and a wide smile.  He played peek-a-boo with me for about half of the journey.

The 3rd thing which made me smile was when a man wearing gloves couldn't turn the pages of his newspaper.  Another man standing in front of him reached over and turned the page for him.

I don't know why but there just seemed to be an air of friendliness you don't normally feel during the morning commute.  I don't know where it came from, and it probably wont be the same tomorrow, but it made me smile today.
