OMG that voice in the back of my head...

I have a love-hate relationship with you.

i love you, I love you. You warn me against ******* up, you make sure I always see the other side's point of view, oh, and you make me laugh sometimes. You're adorable.

But I absolutely ******* hate you. The moments when I need you most to step in, save me from myself, where the **** are you? Taking a nap? Off partying? Gettin' it from another voice-in-the-back-of-somebody's-head? I mean, come on! Also, you've rendered me in a constant of bloody self-doubt. If ever I have the *smallest* amount of self-esteem, hope, confidence, you take a **** on it.

You're my best friend and my arch-nemesis. The love of my life and the bane of my existence. My most powerful strength, and my most crippling weakness.

So **** You, Voice-in-the-back-of-my-head, in more ways than one...

I have multiple voices. Some "good" most "bad" and others are just there. They can be harnessed and used for what you want.

Yeah, sometimes I have two voices in the back of my head, too. Mine are usually having an argument, and the voice in the front of my head is telling them to pack it in :)

All I can say is that different things work for different people. I'm legally blind - made that my ***** - I have autism - same thing - but the voices in the back of my head? They're as impertinent and uncontrollable as I am.

So out of curiosity, how do you control the voice(s)? I'd really like to know.

I have meds.

Oh yeah, those guys...

I avoid meds where and when I can. Call me a homeopath, a mind-over-matter lunatic, but it's my preference.

Still, whatever works.

I won't call you anything. I realized a while back that we're all just doing the best we can with what we have.
