Trying to Stop

I tend to think out loud when I'm alone, though it's developed into a bad habit.  I find myself doing it in public because it helps me think more clearly.  Things often sound better in my head than they do out loud, so it's like testing the water.  I kinda get away with it because people expect artists to have a screw loose.  I've had my crazy moments just like anyone else, but for the most part I'm a pretty stable guy.  Even still, I'm trying to stop thinking out loud, but I'm not sure how.  It can be kind of embarrassing.

I have conversations with myself out loud and in my head. Sometimes I will catch people looking at me when I do it in public, but I just ignore them for the most part. Talking to myself helps me think and function. Also, I am not hurting anybody by talking to myself.

when people start looking at you funny. look at them and say "well what about it, don't you have an answer"

Even when I am not actually talking out loud, if I am deep in thought I end up gesturing along just like I was actually talking. Some things are just hard to stop!
