Never Forget ... Always Be Thankful

It Has Always Been The Soldier.

It is the soldier,
not the President who gives us democracy.
It is the soldier,
not the Congress who takes care of us.
It is the soldier,
not the Reporter who has given us Freedom of Press.
It is the soldier,
not the Poet who has given us Freedom of Speech.
It is the soldier,
not the campus Organizer who has given us the
Freedom to Demonstrate.
It is the soldier,
who salutes the flag;
who serves beneath the flag,
and whose coffin is draped by the flag,
that allows the protester to burn the flag.

Yes I know other countries love their loyal soldiers M& M. I served as well. thank your Josie for your Story. Goose bumps and a deep sigh. I send you an old fashioned peace sign.

MitchAndMaureen ... I'm thankful for our military, US soldiers, which is what I wrote about. The other countries can be thankful for theirs and I hope they are. I will praise US soldiers.<br />

I know other nations have excellent soldiers, such as the Israeli's who have proved it many times over the years. And the Brits and the Aussies.

Very true. thanks for all they do, all they have done and the nation still stands. Presidents come and go..the good and very bad ones. The soldier does what is ask and does not give up or fail the country.I hate war. When a crisis hits home look how many men join up. As the slogan says, " these colors don't run".
