I The Aaron Swartz Tragedy
Aaron Swartz had opposed JSTOR's practice of compensating publishers, rather than authors, the fees it charges for access to articles.
Aaron was accused of systematic downloading of academic journal articles from JSTOR. Swartz contended that JSTOR's fees limited access to academic work produced at American colleges and universities (Source - Wikkepedia)
The Tale Untold....
Currently, there has been many discussions about the charges filed against Aaron Swartz by the U.S. Attorney and whether or not the charges were realistic and whether or not the U.S. Attorney, Carmen Ortiz, was guilty of prosecutorial overreach in filing 13 felony counts on Aaron Swartz, especially when both Universities did not file any civil suit against Aaron Swartz. So why has the government stepped in to push so many charges?
Why would a U.S. Attorney spend so much time attempting to put an activist in prison over taking files of 'free information' when the University itself didn't. One University, came to Aaron's defense and pleaded with the U.S. Attorney to drop the charges. The charges apparently had to do with a breach in the 'user agreement' and apparently, Aaron removed too many files of free information. Although one university, I believe it was MIT, Aaron downloaded so many files it actually brought down their system, although it took hours to bring back up, no permanent damage was done.
Why would the U.S. Attorney file suit and also include many charges that were bogus?

Had Aaron Swartz unwittingly became entangled in the METAL WEB OF MIC.? Aaron and his friend Peter knew immediately the legislation both the United States Senate Bill S.3804, known as the Combating Online Infringement and Counterfeits Act (COICA) introduced by Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) on September 20, 2010.
The (COICA) bill passed the Senate Judiciary Committee with a vote of 19-0 but never received a full vote on the Senate floor. Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR) announced he would take the steps necessary to halt COICA so the bill was effectively killed and never enacted into law in 2010, it would have to be resubmitted a through a new committee again in 2011.
Combating Online Piracy Act (SOPA), is a United States bill introduced by U.S. Representative Lamar S. Smith (R-TX) to expand the ability of U.S. law enforcement to fight online trafficking in copyrighted intellectual property and counterfeit goods.Although these bills were 'sold' as 'copyright' legislation was less about copyright and more about controlling the internet.

Aaron made a comment that ultimately the legislation if passed, could give powers to some the freedom to kill
Aaron knew if the danger of such bills and if passed, it would give the gov't the ability to block sites they didn't want the public to visit and eventually it could be used in the future for nefarious purposes. I don't believe that Aaron realized the legislation may have been created just for that very reason -nefarious purposes and their intention to use this gate was sooner than he realized. Did Aaron Swartz, championing and stopping this bill, step on the foot of a giant?
MIC - THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX
Americans have long been duped into WAR and believing our country is entering WAR for noble reasons when the truth is we enter WAR for nefarious reasons. Guatemala (United Fruit Co.), Vietnam (Gulf of Tonkin Bombing) and Iraq (WMD).
WAR is big money, most non bid contracts are worth billions and those in the business of supplying WAR equipment will work with politicians and media to sell the next story to the American as to why we need to send our troops to the next country of target.
What does this have to do with AARON stopping COICA AND SOPA? This legislation gave the gov't the open gate to control the internet and block sites from the public. Today, the internet is a vital information source and people can not only read foreign news but also communicate with virtually anyone around the world with a few simple keystrokes. The internet has become the fastest tool available for information fact checking and the #1 way to get to the truth of almost anything. The internet has become the biggest threat to those who seek to lie and cheat their way to war.
Who has and still is supporting this kind legislation that gives the gov't this power? CREATIVE AMERICA is one of those organizations supporting and sending out emails about the importance of 'copyright'. Who is this organization, who belongs to it? As it turns out, the names behind this organization are... Time Warner, CBS Corporation, NBC Universal, Viacom. > News Channels...
Who is the man in charge of such organization? The Organizing Director of CREATIVE AMERICA. is Mr. Tim Frazier.
Is this the same Tim Frazier who worked at, has ties with DARPA - The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency providing security for the US Military?
