Heart Attack In A Pan

So while on my trip to see my EP friend...I decided to make a little low cal dish my family and friends decided to call...."Heart Attack Casserole"....and hopefully she loved it as much as we do. If you'd like, you can "health" it up by adding a nice green salad or a vegetable...or three......yes, it may take that many, but it's very good comfort food that will warm you right down to your little toes.  At least it does for me.  So if you'd like to share a little of the joy, you can try it for yourself.
Heart Attack Casserole
2 boxes of Stove Top chicken stuffing, prepared according to package directions.
1 rotissere deli chicken, meat pulled off the bones and shredded into smaller pieces.
3 or 4 stalks of celery, sliced and microwaved for 2 minutes.
2 cans of Cream of chicken soup, undiluted
1 8oz. container of sour cream
2 cups of shredded Cheddar and Monteray Jack blend cheeses
1 sleeve of Ritz crackers, crushed finely
1 stick (or cube if you're from Idaho) of butter, melted

layer as follows in a 9 by 13 inch pan...
Prepared stuffing...cover entire bottom evenly
meat from deli chicken
celery
2 cans soup mixed with the sour cream
2 cups of cheese
crushed Ritz crackers
Drizzle melted butter over the top of the cracker crumbs
Cover with aluminum foil and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour, then remove foil and bake an additional 20 minutes.  Remove from the oven and let stand for a few minutes to let the cheese settle a bit.  Then just serve and enjoy.

Heaven-scent ol'factory
Rumbling tumble.

Delicious occasion.

Wow, that looks so good!

Thanks. It tastes even better too! lol It's also not that hard to make. =)

Its similar to a recipe i make with the condensed soup, sour cream, chicken and cheese, but I fill flour tortillas with the mix, and pour some on top, then bake. But this has that totally superfluous sticka butter, I gotta respect that!

god i miss food like this..everything nowa days is healthy and good for this and that..this would signifcantly blow married mans diet...

It's really an awesome dish....but I wasn't kidding about the side choices. Small portions with healthy sides are an option for those that are trying to watch it a bit. =)

That may be lunch today! ;)

I highly recommend it! It's really THAT good! =)

Made it... had to tweak it a bit for lack of exact ingredients.Halved the recipe... used low fat sour cream and cheeses. Used cream of celery soup instead of chicken and cornbread stuffing mix. Very yummy!

sounds pretty good, but needs bacon for a real heart attack hah

Maybe as a side dish? lol ;)

I read this, because I often call restaraunt dishes "heart attacks on a plate". Nice to see I am not the only goofball that does this.

Oh no..you're not the only one! LOL Luckily, not ALL my dishes are as rich as this one. But it IS really good. =)

I have not been the same since eating your caloric delight. It's like Thanksgiving all in one baking dish.
Do you REALLY think our green beans and salad canceled out anything and turned this I to health food? Who cares? It is comfort food to the max, and delicious to boot. Bravo! ( takes low dose aspirin )
You shared it with me... A little slice of your life. It will always be special. :-) oxo

Maybe it didn't cancel it out...but it sure couldn't hurt! =)
