Our Lives Here Are Like Vapors... Here Today... Then Gone.

I constantly think about how brief our lives are here in this world. The years have passed at an alarming pace.

Multiply your age by 1.5

That is roughly the percentage of the human population that has died since you were born.

For me, 78% of the people that were here on the day I was born are now deceased. It is my turn to “walk the plank”!

It isn’t all gloomy news though. I believe in eternal life, so this is just a start. But while I am here, I want to make the best of every day, treating people with dignity and respect, and trying to show them love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

That is a very interesting calculation process, where did you come up with that? Accordingly 90% of those that where here on the day I was born are no longer in this world. Can that be so? The older I get- my mortality becomes more and more obvious. I take few things for granted, and appreciate the preciousness of life and relationships more. I, like, am not threatened by the heighten awareness of my nearing death, for I too, believe in Jesus Christ and the eternal life which He has made possible.
With out that belief and confidence-- Life would be meaningless and death would be a most threatening prospect. But my Lord has seen me through 60 years, I believe He can see me through a blessed eternity as well.
Thanks for your insightful words.
