Does Voting Even Matter?

When I was a child I was always encouraging the adults in my life to vote. I couldn't wait to turn 18 so that I could vote. At first it felt very empowering to think that I have a say in what happens in my country. Then at some point along the way my eyes opened up to the fact that politicians are the biggest liars on the face of the earth and suddenly it didn't feel so good to vote anymore. And it doesn't seem to matter who gets into office because they don't seem to ever actually do what they said they were going to do during their campaigns. So as much as I feel like I should continue to vote simply because I have the right to do so, I wonder if it makes a difference.

I also doubt if voting really makes any difference.
