They Give Us a Purpose

Some days when I could hardly drag myself out of sleepiness.

Then a delicate breath -  followed by a brush from a whisker, and the deafening purr reminded me not to be so selfish by wallowing in lingering pity. 

No words were spoken but the message was clear. 

"Feed me, I need more energy for my catnaps!."

many years ago I had mononucleosis that went on and on much longer than normal. the only thing that kept me sane were my 2 kitties.
