I Think Being Nice Is Important

I personally believe in treating people as decently as I can. Not that I think this will necessarily be appreciated, or even make me popular -- I have learned that it will probably not, but I guess I just do what feels right to me rather than doing what might feel right for others necessarily.

one of the ways I try to be nice is to ask myself 3 simple questions before I say a word.

is it true?

is it kind?

is it necessary?

I think being nice is underrated and infectious.....and it's definitely not a weakness. You can be nice and still have a backbone. Good to know that you're being you and not what others want you to be :-D

Just be nice, this has been and shall always be my take on life. It takes people by surprise and most give it back, like a smile!

  Good to know. Some like to exploit nice people though. Has happened. Ah well. And they don't even stop to think if their actions make a person who's usually nice, stop being that way, what a loss it is for the world!

There was a time when I didn't know how to treat people well, or that I could. The result was that I accumulated a huge amount of this horrible black, sticky feeling. When I got older and learned to treat people well (including myself) and took responsibility for the hurt I may have inflicted, even apologized to some people, I cleared out the nasty aftereffects of treating others badly. I feel so much better now.

I agree with you JMO....The world is filled with sooooo much grumpy and gloomy stuff..."Nice" is ALWAYS a welcome change!! You do NICE very..."nicely!!" :)

Ah well maybe people secretly like my company -- and they might have learned in the intervening years I'm not actually up to anything. I am liking the way you think too, charmingpurple :)

People like nice people. Some might claim nice people are weird and up to somethind but they secretly enjoy company from said nice people ;)
