Be Who You Are.....

In the immortal words of the great philosopher Popeye, "I yam what I yam". There rests a simple but profound truth. You can be nothing different than who you are. Sure, one can put on a show and pretend to be something different and we call those people hypocritical. The definition of a hypocrite is "pretending to be something you never intend to be." This leads (in my humble opinion) to frustration, internal chaos and a general unfulfilled purpose.

I make no secret the fact that I believe that a person is most happy and content when their outer self is mostly in line with their inner self. And that is just what we are talking about here. There are submissive people in the world. The common view (societies view) is that submission equals weakness but for all those that have taken and trained a submissive know this could not be further from the truth. I have found that it is when the submissive tries to be anything other than what they are is when the weakness and vulnerabilities come to the surface.

Now, this has some very practical and tragic consequences when we start examining the "real life" situations. For example, the submissive woman who marries a passive man. Most times she takes control by default because she feels that if she doesnt, nothing will get done. I feel deeply for these women as they desperately want to be who they are but feel trapped by circumstance. My heart goes out.

Dominance and submission, to me, is nothing more than recognizing who you are and embracing it with all your heart. Am I suggesting that all of life falls into these two categories? Hmmmmmm.......I suppose I am. It is after all the very essence of Darwinism, social structure and basically all of the animal kingdom. Finding out which you are and embracing the truth of that will bring peace.
