Whats Your Favourite Douglas Adams Quote?

"I Love deadlines. I love the wooshing sound they make as they fly by."

(cant remember which book this came from...but i used this one at work...strangely, no one there seemd to share the same appreciation for the Hitchhiker series)

I heard the original BBC tape of Hitchhikers when I was 13 on the radio while staying at my Aunt's in Whangarei.I have never been the same since.

Time is an illusion.Lunchtime doublely so.

his isn't my bag, ford have you seen my bag?

remember its easier to make people think something isn't there, as opposed to actually making it disappear

When you decide to visit the restaurant at the end of the universe, at least have the balls to actually make the sequel :(

I have all 5 audio books, still on no3 and all absurdly awesome and funny and amazing and i want to be a rain god!!

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is one of the few books that is so funny I cried from laughing over. Marvin the paranoid android is a hoot!

i love how these books take you down one road only to say that we're really heading in the opposite direction...

case in point: excerpt from the foreword to the 'hitchhikers guide to the galaxy'

"And then, one Thursday, nearly two thousand years after one man had been nailed to a tree for saying how great it wold be to be nice to people for a change, a girl was sitting on her own in a small cafe in Rickmansworth suddenly realized what it was that had been going wrong all this time, and she finally know how the world could be made a good and happy place. This time it was right, it would work, and no one would have to get nailed to anything.

Sadly, however, before she could get to a phone to tell anyone about it, a terrible stupid catastrophe occurred and the idea was lost forever.

This is not her story.

But it is the story of that terrible stupid catastrophe and some if its consequences."

its sort of the way some people give directions 'you see that shop on the corner where they sell refurbished refrigerators, the one with the sign that says Pappys welding? well don't go there, go to the one across the street."

Well, I was going to give you one....but there are so many! I love his books! I am laughing aloud from the first page on...I have read them so many times, I could almost recite the Hitchhiker's books.

Hmmm...let's see...for starters - "Ford. You're turning into a penguin. Stop it"

And there is that one about tea...what was it? Where the Heart of Gold gives him something that' almost exactly completely unlike tea or something...I'm too lazy to look it up.
