Funny That. My Mother Is Both. (editted)

I saw this group title and I just kind of chuckled to myself.

My mother is a born again, spirit filled, evangelical Christian.

My mother is also a diagnosed paranoid schizophrenic.

Talk about the poster child for this group. Hah.

Coming back to this approximately 2 years later and I realize how unfortunate this post was. :/ I don't want to delete it, though.
I would like to add that for anyone who shares this story or this sentiment, I'd like to recommend that they read the book Agnes's Jacket.

It is interesting to see the ways we justify how we have decided to live. There are tons of reasons to justify almost anything I suppose. But be careful of how you evaluate this one. Emotionalism is dangerious at times and it drives us to many bad conclusions. Some folks here need to do some clear thinking about what life is really all about

Thank you SilverandIce, few people have ever said such things to me and it's absolutely true. And honestly, I did it practically all on my own. My mother is the sweetest woman, all she wants is for everyone to have eternal life. It's just a hassle if you disagree with there being such a thing. Doesn't make for easy conversation.
My father had given up soon after I was born. At 17 my father told me he'd been planning to divorce my for the past 14 years. He had given up. He proceeded to use work as a get away. We never complained, he was a frustrated man and he did the best work in the world - Humanitarian Aid...around the world... Still, he wasn't around for my sister and I. And obviously, though my mother was there, she was never really there. So thank you.

I had a friend for almost 10 years who's mother was a meek christian woman... and also a 2-faced verbally abusive monster... probably either a narcissist or schizophrenic. It's really twisted the way that they twist faith and use it as a method for abuse and manipulation. Evil loves to wear masks of virtue.
Congratulations on surviving childhood - no one should have to go through the kind of crap that someone like her must have put you through.

I think you have just about summed up what all of us have believed for a long time. Of course, we know that not all paranoid schizophrenics are evangelicals, they are much to smart for that. But it would not surprise me to learn that all Evangelicals are paranoid schizopphrenics.
