Another Question

i wonder how many people out there truly believe that the presidents healthcare plan is going to give everyone free or cheap health insurance? here is the truth.....the presidents plan will require anyone who, in the governments opinion can afford it, to PURCHASE health insurance. this will be federally mandated! it is NOT going to provide anyone who isn't already getting free healthcare with their own free healthcare....if you are paying for your own insurance now you will still be paying for it after this plan goes into effect also if you already have health insurance through your employer you will be taxed on the portion that your company is paying for as if it were income. the president says that his plan will cut the deficit by a trillion dollars over 20 years and that MAY be true however i find that difficult to rationalize how spending 100 billion dollars a year MORE than the government spends now will somehow decrease the budget.

the main point of this is......by the governments own admission this plan WILL NOT give everyone FREE healthcare and it WILL NOT cut the costs of your insurance. this plan is bad for 85% of Americans.

i'm not saying that there is no problem with our healthcare, i'm simply saying this is not the way to fix what is wrong. forcing people to buy what they cannot afford will only lead to further problems down the road. our government is incapable of doing anything cheaper than the free market can do it as they have proven time and again. i remember paying less than $20 a month for cable until the government decided it was too expensive and regulated the cable industry. almost immediately my cable bill jumped to $50 a month and today i am paying close to $100 a month. granted i have a lot more channels now than i did back then but i only watch about 6 of them the rest are a waste of air space to me. this is what i fear will happen when the government takes over healthcare. prices will likely get even higher than they are now for those of us who will be forced to buy health insurance to subsidize those who cannot afford to buy their own. I CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY ANY MORE THAN I DO NOW!!!!!

It's crazy. Everyone is going to have 2+ jobs because nobody can find full time work since the business society has cut hours so they don't have to pay for insurance. Families will be more stressed, more divorces, more domestic violence, more drinking etc. It's so bad that the government doesn't even want it for themselves and their families. And my goodness they do such a great job on running the USA why would we think they couldn't run a healthcare system. What a joke. Doctors are not going to take obamacare. Why should they? So they can get paid $1.00 for a bandaid instead of $200.00? Yes the healthcare here is messed up and broken, but this is not the answer at all.

i really don't think i can win i'm really just hoping to garner enough support to possibly get it through the thick skulls of the two parties that people are extremely angry and are tired enough of the bickering to consider alternatives to the two big parties.
i have taken one pol sci semester actually and i flunked LOL i think that was mainly because the instructor and i disagreed on many issues and i wouldn't just shut my mouth and tow the line. there were two of us in the class like that and we both managed to get a failing grade on a paper which the instructor stated before explaining the assignment that it was strictly opinion with no right or wrong answers (we were supposed to discuss why RFK would have beaten Nixon)

i'm curious as to why you deleted your previous comments.

i know nothing i say will convince you of anything you have obviously decided that president Obama can do no wrong.

i will answer your questions anyway though. you ask if i have a political science degree and the answer is no i do not, i have no college degree at all i had to go to work right out of high school and could not live off of mommy and daddy for 4 years while attending a university on their dollar. my education came from hard work, i read everything i can get my hands on when i have the time. what i do have though is something most of the rich politicians can never claim they have and that is simply real world experience. most politicians have never held a job in the private sector, they have always been wealthy yet they claim to know what the poor and working class need. i have been as poor as you can get i was homeless for a time, today i am doing ok but i am certainly not rich. you called me a pseudo intellectual earlier, i make no claims that i am an intellectual. i think most of the governments problems today are because of the intellectuals who cannot admit that someone else may have a better idea. i am a hard working, middle class, intelligent but not highly educated, independent person who thinks our government is completely broken. i think most people would agree with me on that.

i have tried to speak with my state rep and my state senator, the senator graciously made time to see me the rep never seems to have time to listen to his constituents which is why i am running for his office. i am running as an independent because i don't want a party telling me what to do or they will take my money away, i am not taking any donations at all, i will be going door to door in my hometown and the surrounding area actually talking to the people and introducing myself to them. they are by and large a great group of people who care deeply about the community they live in and they will be the ONLY people i will owe anything to should i actually win this election.

not because you have money in banks but because you likely own at least one credit card since you stated that i was not making my payments on time i pointed out that i do not HAVE a credit card. i choose not to let the banks control me i live with as little debt as possible, however since you seem to know so much about not making on time payments i assume you do have at least one credit card and therefore you are owned, controlled and manipulated by the banks.

furthermore i will have you know that while i am not going to speak as a citizen in my states congress i will be running for a state office in november as an independent, would YOU be willing to dive into the deep end of the pool like that? no you would rather sit there and call people names much like the current occupants of our government.

have a nice day brimi

first off i don't own and credit cards...that is only a way to keep people under control and many people (apparently such as yourself brimi) are stupid enough to let themselves be controlled by the banks.

second the "state" senate is another group of rich folks who won't let us poor folks into their club to speak.....just like the federal government and contrary to popular belief not just the republicans are a bunch of rich fat cats

finally the person i heard speaking on CNN yesterday was a democratic strategist speaking in favor of the Obama plan and he stated "yes you will be required by law to purchase health insurance" that is what concerns me the most.

i cannot sit idly by and watch our government take away every freedom we as americans enjoy despite the constitution. these people MUST be stopped. furthermore brimi i don't appreciate your calling me a coward from the safety of your cellphone. if you wish to call people names the least you can do is tell them where you live so we can find out just who the coward really is.....name calling solves absolutely nothing as we have seen by watching our politicians work
this is a great speech by a judge napolitano (i hope i spelled that right)

The Govt is now regulating how much water you can use to flush a toilet, how much water to shower with, how many legs on your desk chair, the air we breathe, the water we drink ...

What are YOU prepared to sacrifice in order to preserve freedom?

i don't think so either but then....thats never stopped the federal government. maybe they will now put into effect a life license....if you wish to continue to live you must now purchase a license AND insurance. without these your right to live will be terminated immediately LOL

Is it really Constitutional to force American citizens to buy health care, or anything for that matter? I know, some say that we already have to buy car insurance (a travesty, in my estimation), but there is a difference there: No one is forced to buy auto insurance; we buy it only if we desire to drive. That's where government now steps in—after you decide you want to drive, at which point you must obtain a license and insurance. Now the government, under Obama, wants to go one step further and force us all to purchase health insurance. I don't believe it's Constitutional.

exactly....we are asking a bunch of morons (on both sides of the aisle) to take on a trillion dollar a year issue when they have proven in the past that they are incapable of balancing their own checkbooks LOL

I agree. I realize healthcare needs fixed.

However I can not understand how anyone can think that the government running it will make it work or be better.

The government that brought us an almost bankrupt social security system. Underfunded liabilities with medicare and prescriptions.

A government that can not make a profit or operate in the green as a semi-secure monopoly like the US Postal Service. Higher postal rates, no Saturday delivery ... what is next. In a semi-monopoly it can not compete with the private sector.

What possesses it to think it could compete or even run a program in the health insurance arena.
