The Worst Swear Word

hen i was growing up, and from a very young age my dad taught me that the word "hate" was a horrible word, and was worse than any swear word because the strong hateful emotion behind the word was much more damaging than a symbolic word for negative connotations.
It's quite funny when i think about it, because i was allowed to say "f u c k" and "s h i t" at a pretty young age, but i would be scolded if i said the word "hate" - which was rare.
Even now, at 20 years old, sometimes the word occassionally pops out and i freak out, feeling really bad about saying it. And when my friends use the word constantly, i almost cringe every time i hear the word.
