Sand Paper

Some people are like sand paper. They keep rubbing and rubbing until it hurts. I have a pretty high pain tolerance whether it is physical or mental, but if they rub me enough, it begins to hurt. Then when their gone, it heals. Eventually as time goes on, I get immune to their harshness, and I become numb to their bullshit.

this perfectly compliments and affirms the age old saying "rubs me the wrong way" family what can we do?

Get a restraining order?

So true.. but I have always had a soft spot of vigilantly justice myself.

I have developed callouses for certain personality types. It's taken decades.
It's funny too because my tolerance for certain people drives my friends crazy.

But, sometimes, the sand-paper is so coarse that the thickest callouses are simply not effective.
I'm not a pleasant person to be around when someone breaks through to my bad side.

I totally have to give this a try!!

Family can be a real problem...I could totally learn a thing or two, from you, in this....I avoid problem family members too. If I have to be in a room with them or at some event. I get as far away as I can and have even been known to circle rooms staying away.....This isn't a "good" quality for me...Looks a lot more like cowardice....Being able to numb out would work way better.

What a really good take on this and an AWESOME way to describe it..... I just avoid them after about the 3rd "rub".... No creativity involved..:O
