Love Mistakes

There was a guy in my school who had a huge crush on me. Although I did not feel the same way(and I told him many times), he kept telling me all the reasons he liked me. This went on for about 6 months and I eventually cracked!! I told him I really, really, did not like him. I even told him he was sort of annoying. He did not listen, once again.

So one day I was talking to my friends... "Oh my god guys! _____ is really annoying!! What should I do??"
"No idea! that's your problem, deal with it!" they said
"I've got an idea! I think i'm going to be mean to him so he doesn't love me anymore!"
"Whatever"

And.. you guessed it, he herd me! He was really heart broken! I knew, after I said that, it was not the right way to deal with the situation and I had really hurt his feelings. I apologized to him.

The next day, everyone in my small high school knew the whole story. Well, they knew _____'s take on the story. My friends sort of ignored me. The guy I really liked, the reason why I did not love ______, was super pissed at me and told me he was disappointed in what I've done and that my apology was insincere. I'm really lost right now. What should I do?

I don't think you've done anything wrong, everyone else is blowing it out of proportion. What were you meant to do? The guy wouldn't listen. To try to make amends (even though in my opinion, you shouldn't need to, you did nothing wrong) try to explain that you didn't appreciate the neediness and it was beginning to bother you. I think in this situation it is best to just tell the truth.
