I like Princesskairi's suggestion of a diary, you may also want to get a calendar. there may be some susceptibility to hormone changes. It is also worth considering other cyclical changes (time of year, days, events). I've recently developed a greater awareness of my moods and how they're managed. Without the presence of certain dampening or coping behaviors (like binge eating, or shopping) I experience moods with greater intensity.

I've begun to wonder whether I might be a bit bipolar,--as the moods are extreme and divergent-- or if I am simply inexperienced at managing mood states. I am also noting exactly how responsive my moods are to thought. I've become attuned to how thinking triggers biochemical processes so if I choose (or don't resist) a pleasurable state, I am left with one hell of a hangover followed by aggressive pleasure seeking ... Its like playing with the frequency and amplitude of a wave.

Its a good idea to be mindful of sleep, exercise and eating well.

Personally, I do not think you are bi polar, but I do think you are very stressed. I understand you may not want to go see a doctor, but I really think you should soon. But for now I have a suggestion. If you dont already, you should get a diary. I know it is hard to talk to your partner about your feelings sometimes, so i suggest you try and write your feelings down, it may help you not build everything up. Good luck!

I've seen a doctor before. It didn't help. Probably because I didn't want them to help me. But I don't want to go to see someone if it's so easy for them to think that you're alright if you just smile and say everything's fine.
