Lifting My Mood

No big build up on this one, am too tired, haha. I'll just say this:

I've been going through some "things" this week. This song came on the radio today when I was driving around, running some errands , and it instantly picked up my mood. The words in the 3rd verse especially seemed to fit right in with what's been going on with me and overall it helped to remind me to just let go.

It's become an instant favourite of mine (though as I already have her album I'm not sure how I managed to miss it previously ...), and I've already downloaded and listened to it about a million times (literally), including very loudly while dancing around in my living room ...

Stompa
By: Serena Ryder

There's a light,
And I can see it in your eyes.
There's a memory,
Of the way you used to be.
Nothings gone,
it still shines every time you turn it on,
And when you slow it down ...

People, working every night and day
Never give yourself no time
Got too many bills to pay
Slow down, nothing’s gonna disappear
If you give yourself some room
To move to the music you hear

Gotta get up, listen to me
Clappa your hands, stompa your feet

People, looking for the great escape
Looking for the greener side
Trying to find a better way
Slow down; open up your big brown eyes
Feel the rhythm in your heart
You don’t even need to try

Gotta get up, listen to me
Clappa your hands, stompa your feet
Nothing is wrong, if you move to the beat
Clappa your hands
Stompa your feet
Stompa your feet

When you can’t seem to shake off all the feelings that are breaking
Little pieces of the music that’s in you
All the pain that you feel
I can prove it’s not real
There’s just one thing you gotta do

Gotta get up, listen to me
Clappa your hands, stompa your feet
Nothing is wrong, if you move to the beat
Clappa your hands
Stompa your feet
Stompa your feet

Stompa your feet, stompa your feet

It's got a good beat and you can dance to it. Lol
Found myself snappin' to the beat.
It is a good cheer up song for sure.
Thanks for sharing. :-)

*giggles*

Your welcome my friend. Though its much too nosy for my poor head at the moment.

Noisy, ugh. Auto correct + iPad thumb typing strike again!

That was actually pretty cool :) It is simple in its message: Just dance, even when you are down. I like it :)

I am still loving it. It's been added I to regular rotation on my iTunes playlist and has been a willing accomplice during more than one very loud dance around my living room to cure a bad mood session.

I really like this, especially since I was unfamiliar with both the song and artist.

However, I do have to admit that as I'm reading the lyrics, the "stompa" and "clappa" forced me to read it with a really bad Italian accent... "Shut uppa you face!"

*giggling* ... am having such a hard time imagining someone from your "neck of the woods" being able to imitate an Italian accent in any way, shape or form - I'd imaging "bad" is putting it mildly.

I'm glad you liked it. I really like Serena Ryder, this song is a little different from her usual stuff, but it's all quite good.

Love it, too. Thanks for sharing it. :)

Welcome. Decided to embed the song as well. :-)

I like that little trick myself.

Learned it recently, now I'm obsessed, lol.

Totally understand obsession. ;)

Haha ... yes, yes I do believe you would. We are like long lost sisters or something ... :-P

Yes, or something... ;)

Emphasis on something ... :-P
