Tax?

I don't smoke pot. I don't plan on smoking pot. However, I support the legalization of marijuana, not just for others, but for myself. Marijuana is something the government can tax. Because of this, if it is legalized, other taxes could theoretically be lowered. Also, if we follow a model where you are only to smoke marijuana in certain places then, theoretically, there could be less strain on the healthcare system. Because, lets face it, some people do the dumbest **** while high. I suppose it wont make that much of an impact. I can't remember the last time I heard of someone getting sent to the hospital for doing something dumb while high. Wait... no... yeah I do. A teenager jumped out a window. But that's my only memory. I have heard some terrible stories about laced marijuana... I'm not sure of the validity of them though. And now that I really think about it... if marijuana was legalized in Canada how much do you think tourism will go up? Profit could be made there... though... perhaps it wont be much. It would probably be more of a novelty thing than anything... And yet, with weak arguments for why it should be legalized... I can't come up with reasons for it to not be legal. I'm always of the opinion that if there is no solid reason for something to be illegal, then why is it? I feel this applies to marijuana.
