Re: "The Roman Catholic Church banned medical marijuana during the Dark Ages"

Do you have a citation.source for that? As far as I know pot wasn't banned anywhere until it was outlawed in El Paso, Texas in 1911 in a misguided attempt to use it as a tool to rein in Mexican cowboys (from Mexico) that worked as ranch hands in the surrounding areas (on both sides of the border) that would come to town on weekends and get drunk and shoot up the town. (because limiting/restricting alcohol purchases or banning guns in the city limits might have made sense).
They were trying to use it as a tool specifically against Mexicans because it was thought that no one else was using it, which may or may not have been true. (as if Mexicans were the only people getting drunk and being stupid with firearms)

you say medical merijuanna! Its clear that it should be used only as a medicine! And not a weed for euphoria! I think for rhis plant to be such strong to cure such challenging diseases, it certainly has strong chemical components that can lead to hazardious effects if misused or abused! Peoples' experiences are the best evidence! So, i am with banning it! Dreaming of the day when alcohols and tobaccos are also b anned for the better of our posterities!

Your entire "thought" in this post shows you have a complete misunderstanding of the plant, it's effects and the reasons it's useful as medicine.

The only way to kill someone with pot is to bury them with several tones of it or to use it as a fuel to burn someone at the stake.

      Please try to keep up.

everybody has their own attitudes! I am not in the intention of putting your thought in the shade! But i know well that this plant is overly misused! I still dont find a justification of contineously using it!

Marijuana is NOT a drug! Intoxicant: the physiological state produced by a poison or other toxic substance typically resulting in inebriation.

Alcohol, opium/heroin and many other drugs are both numbing and toxic but cannabis is neither.

Cannabis does not block any neurotransmission nor does it produce the typical toxic side effects (withdraw, nausea, hangover, overdose, death) of other drugs listed as either a narcotic or intoxicant.

      I belive anything can abused...
Food is not a drug, yet it can be abused...
Even breathing too fast or too much can make you dizzy...
I loved weed alot for many years but had to give it up because i abused it and it was blocking my life.. But used without abuse it can be a great tool in meditation and for oppening the mind.
But when you smoke it everyday from dawn to dusk it can be considered like abuse...

You can "abuse" it, in the sense that you can abuse anything that's plaesureable, but what he means is actual "abuse" like coke/crackheads, and heroin junkies, do, which isn't possible with Mary Jane, lol! Like you said, Galacteal, anything can be overdone, food, sex, T.V., whatever, but that's not even close to justifiable cause for prohibition. I mean, there are people that jerk off to much, that doesn't give the government a right to bust into your house, and put a chastity belt on you, for m@sterb@ting. And if physically addictive, and non-medical substances like nicotine, and alcohol are legal, then cannabis certainly should be.

I'm not convinced. In fact, I think you want it to stay banned. I'm on to you!

Lol.. No.. I want it legalized lol
Its a very good plant with so many uses.. I was just stating that i once abused and i had to stop for personal reasons lol. Alcool is worse than marijuana i think, and yet its legal... In my case i was just using this good product too much.. I confess... I loved it too much lol...like people abusing sex lol

"My experience tells me that i did"

Do you see spirits, too? LOL Because some fool overdoes something (and to use pot to an extent that it's detrimental would take an extreme concerted effort) should that make it illegal?

By THAT argument everything (as in absolutely everything) should be illegal.

Have fun living in the middle of outer space in the cold and dark...
