Look Out, Evil Pinko Hippy Treehugger About to Speak

It's less harmful to your lungs than cigarettes, and less addictive than alcohol. The people who like it are going to smoke it wether it's legal or not. Why are we still wasting so much money in the legal system and law enforcment on pot, why not put that money and resources to good use going after real cimes and real criminals?

It is illegal because of sec anslinger was a racist biggot and made illegal because of misinformation. I think now it is kept illegal because of the DEA and other agencies make more money keeping it on the list of class 1 narcotics/ It is all about the money follow the money trail, don't use other countries examples of decriminaizing and outrite legalizing that crime goes out of the equation, addiction rates go down and none of the things they try to scare the public with ever happens. The status quo will keep it the way it is and violent crime will still be prevalant, the DEA makes billions trying to keep a wild plant out of the country, makes no sense go figure

show ever created. Rock on!!!

i smoke pot too, illegally i guess. but think of the dealers. if you were one , you would hate it. you would get paid s. hit. and for the people who need it for an illness can get a licsense to grow. haha! im only 13 and i buy weed from my mom, shes got a frickin liscence for it! <br />
maybe im just immature, i dont know. <br />
tell me, am i wrong?

Pot was banned because of hatred, fear, greed and ignorance and the campaign was driven by an ambitious government beaureaucrat named Henry J. Anslinger. It's not illegal because the government is trying to protect you from yourself, or because it's wrong or bad for you. It's about the almighty dollar. Now go Gooooogle it and read on. Also, "Reefer Madness" was the most ridiculous movie I've ever seen.

Legalize it!!! End of story.

maybe. it's hard for me to say sionce most of the people i've driven with while high on pot did just fine if not better than usual

an addict who quits hard drugs but can't JUST smoke pot, is someone who has a severe problem, but that doesn't make pot bad. That simply means he can't get what he needs from pot, his body and psyche crave more. Your post makes a point, but i'm not sure it's the one you were trying to. I can't believe i'm saying this, but I honetly think you'll see the real world better when you finish growing up. There's a reason adults are allowed to chose if they want to take nicotine or drink alcohol. The world is a complicated place, exteremly so.

There have been studies in rats that prove that cannabis can kill cancerous cells. <br />
Don't believe me?<br />
Look it up for yourselves!

IT IS SOMETHING I HAVE BEEN DOING FROM I WAS 13, I AM A JAMAICAN SO WE PRODUCE IT BABY, I LOVE THE **** OUT OF IT BUT I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH YOU THAT IS SOMETHING THAT HARMS YOU U SEE IF PEOPLE WAS USING IT IN PORTION THEN FINE BUT ABUSING IT THEN IT LEAVES U WITH NERVES PROBLEM SLEEPING PROBLEM EATING PROBLEM LOST OF MEMORY AND THATS ONLY NAMING A FEW.I ONLY DO IT ON PARTY OCCASION. IS NOT EVERYONE CAN HANDLE IT

I feel normal when it wears off, which is a drag in itself. My reality is no different, but my attitude toward it is more accepting when I'm up.

in response to icygreen. i dont think marijuana can give you an artificial high because it is a plant. nothing artificial about it.<br />
<br />
in response to juliesm. where did you get your information. i find it odd that doctors would prescribe pot to cancer patients if it is indeed a cancer causing drug. but alas, i dont know....i'll have to look it up.<br />
<br />
and yes, wiseoldowl, pot has been labeled a gateway drug. but what of alcohol and cigarettes. two very powerful 'legal' drugs which can also be labeled gateway drugs. yet they are still legal, and in my opinion, pose far greater health concerns. just on a personal note, pot never encouraged me to do other drugs....i like to try everything atleast once.<br />
<br />
also, i know this old lady [used to live by me], smoked pot her whole life. shes about 70 now. shes as healthy as a 70 yr old can be. my grandma, another old lady about 70 yrs old. shes smoked marlboro's her whole life. she hacks up night and day. she sounds bad. and last, you have my dad, not as old as the two ladies. but in far worse condition, he is a chronic alcohol drinker and addicted to cigarettes. no, thats not proof that pot is better. it just shows how different people are. and when one drug affects one person, it does not mean that every one will follow suit and be affected in the exact same way.

i don't, icygreen. i think that only happens with man made chemical drugs. pot is more like an herb

"Anything that produces an artificial high is not good, as the following low is harmful."<br />
<br />
I want to ask all the stoners here, do you feel low when your high wears off? Because I know I don't. I just feel normal after my high wears off.

thank you thatisme<br />
<br />
yes it's not for everyone. but it is fine for a lot of people. i'd also say that there's more evidence that E can cure some forms of depression with a single dose, that there is evidence of pot causing schitzophrenia.<br />
<br />
by the way, i drank before i smoked pot, and i was drunk the nigh i first smoked, so alcohol could be argued as my gateway drug. also, 2 years later pot and hash (concentrated pot) are the only 'drugs' i've used, aside from the much more dangerous perscription drugs i take. hydromorphone? adavan? codine? and codine is an over the counter drug, it's a dirivitive of COCAINE.<br />
<br />
i might also point out how much marijuana has helped people i know who suffer from crone's disease and MS

where did you get your info? I've never heard or read anything to contradict pot being LESS harmful than cigarettes by far. it isn't a gateway drug, that's a silly concept made up by the US government. The real gateway drugs are tobacco and alcohol.<br />
i've actually found my memory beter since i started smoking pot. i take it promarity to treat depression and anxiety, it helps with mental and emotional illnesses, like it gelps with my OCD. it IS a huge waste and it's hurting innocent people. i wish people like you would stop ranting long enough to realise you haven't actually looked from all sides

Marijuana is TWICE as cancerous as cigarettes, so don't even start with that "It's not harmful" crap. Marijuana is full of benzopyrene- a cancer causing chemical found in car fumes, coal tar, and more.<br />
<br />
It's also a precursor (behavior that can lead up to) to using more harmful drugs like heroin and crack. Pot messes up your short-term memory and leads to psychological addiction. Just because it doesn't have a chemical that hooks you, doesn't mean that your brain isn't going to want it. Since it makes you feel so good, the smoker wants it again and again. Then the smokers feels like they depend on it to make them feel good. <br />
<br />
Marijuana use increases symptoms of depression, schizophrenia, and other mental illnesses. I know one person who had schizophrenia and used marijuana, and then started to have serious increases in hallucinations, even when he wasn't high. <br />
<br />
We're not "wasting" money trying to enforce drug laws. I wish that people would stop smoking pot long enough so that they could actually comprehend this.

alright, I'm sorry to have to say this, but stop smoking so ******* much pot.....seriously dude, even your typing is wasted.....i don't know chinese, but i do know that would have an easier time teaching it to a mentally challenged chia pet than i would teaching whatever it is you are trying to communicate to anyone.....why are you typing like that? it MAKES NO SENSE, rarrrr! - my fiance demanded the keyboard to write this

I'm taking an online college course in Addiction Studies. We've learned about the good and bad about marijuana and for the most part it's fairly accurate information. But it is not explained from the user's point of view. I think that marijuana is a multi-use miracle drug, as it does whatever you need it to do. If you use it for arthritis or MS, it softens your pain. If you use it to get you through situational depression, it makes your days bearable. <br />
<br />
No drug or treatment is without risk. I think the benefits of using marijuana far outweigh the possibility of harmful side effects.
